The Platform

End-to-end recovery. One system.

Bright Harbor combines structured claim workflows, real-time document tracking, and human advocate support into a single platform — designed for the worst days of your life to go slightly less badly.

How It Works

Five phases, zero guesswork.

01

Policy Intake and Coverage Mapping

You upload your declarations page. Our system parses dwelling coverage (Coverage A), personal property (Coverage C), additional living expenses (Coverage D), and any endorsements — then maps each to your specific disaster type.

Within 48 hours of intake, you receive a plain-English coverage summary showing exactly what you can claim, what documentation each line item requires, and what deadlines apply to your insurer in your state.

02

Documentation Builder

The platform generates a custom document checklist based on your coverage type, disaster category, and state regulations. You upload photos, receipts, contractor bids, and temporary housing costs — and the system flags gaps before submission.

Integration with USAA, State Farm, Allstate, Travelers, and GEICO claim portals allows direct file submission. For insurers without API access, we generate properly formatted PDF claim packets.

03

Advocate Assignment

Every subscriber on Growth and above is assigned a Bright Harbor Recovery Advocate — a licensed insurance professional with at least 5 years of claims experience. Your advocate attends adjuster calls, tracks statutory response deadlines (Colorado: 60 days; California: 30 days post-complete claim), and escalates internally when timelines slip.

Communication is via your dashboard, encrypted email, or direct phone — your choice. Advocates are available during business hours MST with 24-hour emergency escalation paths for active disaster situations.

04

Government Aid Sequencing

FEMA Individual Assistance, SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans, CDBG-DR state grants, and local emergency funds all have different eligibility windows, documentation requirements, and inter-program rules. Applying in the wrong order can disqualify you from downstream funding.

Bright Harbor's aid sequencer maps your eligibility across programs and tells you exactly which to file first, what documentation carries across multiple applications, and where insurance proceeds reduce your aid caps.

05

Settlement Review and Closeout

Before you sign any settlement release, your advocate compares the offered amount against your coverage limits, depreciation calculations, and contractor bids. Shortfalls above 15% trigger a formal dispute letter with supporting documentation.

After final settlement, the platform generates a recovery closeout report documenting every decision, timeline, and outcome — useful for tax purposes, future claims, and insurance renewal negotiations.

Platform Capabilities

Built for the entire lifecycle

Real-Time Claim Tracker

Every open task, deadline, and document request visible in a single dashboard. Automated reminders 72 hours before insurer deadlines. Status updated within 4 hours of any adjuster communication.

Loss Inventory Tool

Structured itemization of personal property losses by room, category, and age. Pre-populated with depreciation schedules from Xactimate — the same pricing database most insurers use to calculate replacement costs.

ALE (Additional Living Expense) Tracker

Track hotel nights, restaurant meals, laundry costs, pet boarding, storage units, and mileage — all mapped to IRS disaster per diem rates and your policy's ALE limit. Export-ready for adjuster submission.

Contractor Vetting Engine

Cross-reference your contractor's license against 48 state databases, check CSLB and BBB complaint histories, and verify they carry the minimum $1M general liability insurance required for residential rebuilds in most states.

State Regulatory Library

Response time laws, proof-of-loss deadlines, appraisal demand rights, and bad-faith statutes for all 50 states — updated quarterly. Know your rights before your first call with an adjuster.

Dispute and Appeal Drafting

When a settlement falls short, the platform generates a pre-formatted dispute letter citing your policy language, state statutes, and comparable settlement data. Your advocate reviews and signs before submission.
