Previously a senior claims analyst at Travelers Insurance, where he oversaw catastrophic loss assessments across five western states. After his family's Cameron Peak wildfire experience in 2020, Joel spent two years building the toolkit he wished his parents had. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Ran survivor services for the Colorado Division of Housing after the Marshall Fire, coordinating temporary housing placements for over 600 displaced families. Before that, spent 8 years at FEMA's Individual Assistance division managing field operations during Hurricanes Harvey and Maria. Brings the government side of the equation to Bright Harbor's team.
Chief Technology Officer
Previously led engineering at Clearcover, the Chicago-based insurance startup that processed over $200M in auto premiums before its $200M Series D. Marcus architected Bright Harbor's claim workflow engine and document parsing infrastructure. He holds an MS in Computer Science from Georgia Tech and is a licensed cloud architect on AWS.
